For our Support Worker roles, we offer £11.44 - 12.30 per hour.

Contracted hours are 40 hours per week. Monday to Friday.

Care experience is NOT necessary, Care experience is NOT necessary, we can work with colleagues over the age of 18’s.

We have an exciting opportunity for Learning Support Workers to join our teams at St Gwynllyw and Phoenix Day Centres. The centres are Specialist Education and Care Day Services for individuals with a Learning Disability and other complex needs, whilst a related qualification is desirable, it is not essential. Support will be given once in the role to gain all relevant qualifications.

The role includes: -

  • Providing education and organisational support to the Head of Education and Social Development in planning, monitoring, assessing and managing learning activities
  • Guiding service users during structured and non-structured sessions and assist each service user to achieve their full potential
  • Working alongside staff from the Fieldbay Clinical teams, where appropriate, to support the inclusion of all service users, encouraging them to become more independent and to provide support for their welfare.
  • The successful applicant will have energy and enthusiasm with the ability to use their initiative to support learning and behaviour in fun and creative ways. Candidates should have a real passion and commitment to join an expanding, successful education and healthcare service.
  • You will complete shift records and paperwork, to ensure a robust handover.
  • You will be asked to attend team meetings, supervisions and appraisals actively taking a role in your own continuous professional development
  • Health & Social Care experience is desirable, but not essential.
  • Licence/Certification: All Staff must complete the SCW Induction and register with Social Care Wales within six months.
  • A full driving license with no more than 3 endorsement points, held for more than 2 years is desirable for this role, along with experience of driving safely and competently.
  • Health & Social Care level 2 qualification is desirable, however not essential as the opportunity to gain this qualification whilst in employment is available.
  • An enhanced DBS will be required for all successful candidates.

**Shift times** - 08.00am - 17.00pm

We like to get out and about too– with movie nights at the cinema, food outings, or shopping and a coffee. There are sports fans who you’d take to bowling or to watch a team.

There is of course practical support too and helping people to reach their goals in smaller ways. You’d manage medication, shopping, health needs and hygiene as well as keep things tidy and safe.
